The Best of Colchester

Colchester in Essex is a wonderful place to be whether you’re visiting or whether you live here! The town has extensive history dating back to 5 AD when it was known as Camulodunum.

The Castle still stands today and has many artefacts that will take you back 2000 years of some of the most important events in British history many of these have been found in the local area in various archaeological digs that have taken place throughout Colchester History

I have lived in various places in London, Harwich and local Villages and they all have wonderful things to offer but when I moved to Colchester in1991 – It felt like I was coming home if you can relate to that. I have made this site to highlight the best (in my opinion!) places to go, things to do and businesses to frequent!

There are lots of great places to go and things to do! The town centre has all the different types of retail outlets that you could wish for we also have out of town retail centres including Tollgate and Whitehall industrial Site.

The first thing that jumped out at me when I moved to Colchester was how friendly and helpful the local businesses are. Each page off this site highlights what I think of as the very best of that Colchester Town has to offer including the fantastic local business that I include within these pages. Events that take place and leisure activities you can visit.
